Perfect chance to go for a walk on the beach

With the superb weather we are experiencing at the moment, it has never been a better time to stroll along the beach...

At Crimdon there are some excellent examples of pill boxes and coastal defences.
In 2006 Tees Archaeology produced a booklet entitled `The Home Front - Teesside Defences During World War II` . This 32 page booklet features details of most of the wartime defences in the Teesside area.
If you wish to receive a free copy, please send an email to ian.jones@hartlepool.gov.uk
The booklet also feature a pack of field guides to identify and provide information on pillboxes.
