Hartlepool Built
Friday 1st May saw the launch of the website www.hartlepoolbuilt.co.uk
This website contains details of every ship built in Hartlepool and West Hartlepool from the 1830s to the 1960s when the last of the shipyards closed.
The amount of information available on individual ships varies but where possible includes ship specifications, owners, masters, crew lists, photographs, plans and any other information that helps us build a full history of the vessel.
This website has been developed using information from a wide range of resources, including the N.E England Maritime Archaeology Research Archive (NEEMARA).
The archive holds a wide range of maritime reference material, from professional archaeological reports and policy documents, to general shipping and shipbuilding books and magazines.
If you are researching a ship, or a seafaring ancestor and cannot find all the information you need on this site, please contact us as we may have more information that is not yet available online.
We are always seeking more information to add to the Hartlepool Built website, if you have any relevant photgraphs, objects or memories of any Hartlepool-built ship we would love to hear from you.
