Discoveries at Stewart Park

Our excavation at Stewart Park has unearthed some very interesting features including brick footed buildings which date from the beginning of the 19th century and also A hollow way which separates the two rows of the medieval and later village and different surfaces have been found at the base of this routeway, hollowed out by the passage of people and animals over centuries.

The excavation ends this Friday and we would like to pass on our thanks to all the volunteers who helped make this excavation very successful.

The photographs above show the above features and also some medieval pottery.
